A fire at Fred Black's home on Spring Street started shortly after 11 a.m. caused by a cigarette in an overstuffed chair. Corry firemen arrived with fifteen men and multiple rigs to find the living room heavily damaged and the loss amount undetermined. Black was not home when the fire occurred. firefighters returned to the station by 12:15 p.m.
Aero-Flow Dynamics the Aero-Corry division parent, posted 1963 sales of 7.28 million and profits of 199,825 or 32 cents a share. The 1962 results showed a 165,000 loss on 5.99 million sales. Commercial sales rose to 75 percent of total with defense at 2 percent, and executives expect commercial output to grow as defense declines. E F Pain, general manager, said aerospace is poised for a brisk advance and Aero-Corry is well positioned to serve the industry.
The Marine Corps disbands 13 small reserve outfits including the 34th Rifle Company in Johnstown and the 7th Rifle Company in Williamsport Pennsylvania. Announcement cites need for effective manpower and fiscal resource management.
Anchorage residents begin to rebuild after last Friday's quake as President Johnson orders federal relief. He announced Wednesday a request to Congress for 50 million dollars to aid Alaska with debris removal, school and transportation restoration, and economic recovery.

Gen. Douglas MacArthur shows a further decline in heart and kidney function. Doctors implement peritoneal dialysis to cleanse his blood, using two abdominal incisions and tubes to run cleansing fluids through the peritoneum. The updated bulletin notes continued deterioration and a bleak outlook while the general remains under care with his esophageal tube still in place.
Circulation and cataloguing at Corry Public Library rose over February and March. 236 books were bought for 615 dollars, 907 catalogued, 5 960 volumes circulated, 156 new registrations. Memorial gifts included eight books in February and 18 in March plus a memorial chair. A book selection policy was adopted and officers will be elected at a later meeting.
