Orville 8 Caesar, president of the Greyhound Corporation, announced the protection of the largest intercity bus order, with the first delivery of the 1800 Silversides coaches commencing.
Eleven workers were injured when a fire damaged a 5 foot tower at the Babcock and Wilcox Tubing Company plant near Beaver Falls Pennsylvania. The blaze began when molten metal spilled from a ladle during casting and was controlled by plant workers before firefighters arrived. Eight men were hospitalized at Providence Hospital with burns and gas fumes. three were treated and discharged.
Hugene B. Mackey a native of Titusville and longtime oil attorney died in Titusville Hospital at 86. Admitted to the bar in 1889 he represented oil firms in Pittsburgh and New York including Tidewater Oil Co. He practiced in Franklin from 1930 to 1938 before retiring to Titusville.
