Easter vacation begins after school today in public schools
Superintendent Ray Elsen says public school students start their Easter break at the close of classes today and resume Tuesday. The calendar shifted last Friday to absorb two snow days. Meanwhile the Chamber of Commerce Retail Division backs Good Friday hours with stores closing from noon to 3 pm and business hours left to the discretion of each establishment. The final Lenten noontime service at East Washington Street church runs 12:05 to 12:45 pm. Police report a family dispute over a dollar taken from a girl walking to school, with the boy denying the claim and told to stay away.
