Memorial Day Observances Draw Small Rural Crowd
Pleasant weather drew a modest turnout for Memorial Day services as farmers and townspeople gathered at the cemetery and opera house. Gladys Woolidge led a procession of schoolgirls with flowers, veterans' groups assisted, and a Lincoln tribute by B C Logan emphasized reverence over celebration. An afternoon program at the opera house featured prayers, music by a girls quartet, a flag drill, and patriotic songs led by local youths.
