Auto Club Formed Here for Tuesday Jaunt
The Carectionville Auto club held a Monday formation at a local merchants’ hall naming W. McQuitty as president G. H. Burris as vice president and several others as officers. Active members pay a higher dues with social members at a lower rate. A booster trip along the Hawkeye Highway to Sioux City is planned for next Tuesday June 6 with an expected 150 cars and a 20 mile per hour pace.

Town farmer Ernest John dies at 47 in Correctionville area
Ernest John, a Town arrival in May 1908, died May 22 at his home four miles north and one mile west of Correctionville. He left a widow, a father and mother, and a brother surviving in England. He was a member of the Episcopal church. services were led by Rev Q J Davies at Goo Hope M E church, with interment at Good Hope cemetery. The obituary notes his ill health and mentions Cham Cham something liniment as remedy.

One of the finest classes ever graduated by Correctionville High School, the class of 1911, included thirteen students seven boys and six girls who received diplomas after a park themed program in bright opera house setting. Noted graduates include Elwood Travis Robert Thom Marcia Cobb and Bert Welty among performers and speakers. The evening featured music by local vocalists and a keynote on choosing a vocation with Superintendent M D Smith honored with a gift of gold ware.

Past Masters of Local Masonic Lodge to Celebrate Twenty-Fifth Anniversary
Burning Bush Lodge No. 474 A F and A M of Correctionville marks the twenty fifth anniversary with a gathering Friday evening. Present will be every lodge master whose portraits adorn the hall, including W L Ehlers now deputy county auditor in Sioux City. The session at 7 will be led by current master C B Nellis and feature a reminiscence. A banquet follows with wives and family members as guests, plus a donuts program and other entertainments. Toastmaster Dr W F McQuitty oversees remarks, with past masters named in the group portrait.
