Albert Nelson a young parolee facing a ten year sentence for forgery tried to shoot himself at Tam Leach's farmhouse west of Oto. Leach and Officer Garren restrained him. Nelson, shackled, became docile and claimed no harm to others. Leach had previously aided his parole but Nelson relapsed into liquor.
