Coronado residents rally behind a bicycle parade with a historic fleet and expert riders. W F Holland returns from Los Angeles with news of prehistoric bicycles shipping to Coronado for demonstration.
Mr Leslie J Cutler reports a large California Principals Convention in Pasadena with about six hundred attendees. Governor Stephens and State Superintendent William C Woods spoke on increasing high school curriculum including English foreign languages manual training and commercial work. The meeting emphasized opportunities for adults to resume interrupted studies and complete their high school education.
Marshall Smith and Saturday Night shared a brief trip along Orange Avenue this week. Both did their part and the riders stopped at the Post Office.
Miss Katherine Richards and Edgar Allen Poe plan a June wedding in Coronado instead of May and will not reside in China. Richards, a noted local athlete, is daughter of Charles O Richards and a Bancroft relative. Poe, son of a former attorney general, captained the marine corps in World War I and later served with Admiral Gleaves in the Asiatic fleet before settling in Coronado for a year.
The Dos Show committee expands with Mrs. Claus Spreckels as president and George Remington named chairman. Sub committees form to manage entry administration fundraising and awards at Hotel del Coronado with late May target. Entries already arriving and AKC accreditation sought for championship status. The AKC address is No 1 Liberty Street New York City.
Students recount a happy back from break with seniors challenging others to a track meet and tallying scores. Principal convention attendance by Mr Cutler and Mr Norris noted, and honors listed include valedictorian Carol Smith and salutatorian Zella Walker.

Esther the Beautiful Queen and the King's Progress will be staged in La Jolla under Countess Lora God woska de Turczynowicz and the La Jolla Woman's Club. The event runs evening April 28 and Saturday afternoon April 29 with Mrs. Josephine Bird and Mrs. Frazier Curtis backing the effort. J A Lock will portray Lord Chamberlain. The Countess is author of When Prussia Came to Polland and represented the Lithuanian Peace Conference. A Children's Pageant will be a key feature.

Rain did not spoil the fun as guests danced and hunted eggs, with Norman Strum winning the most eggs. Attending were Helen Freeman, Elizabeth Floyd, Zella Walker, Anna Frosio, Viola Tatum, Dorothy Bandel, Colleen Pyke, Dorothy Barr, Marjorie Young, Elizabeth Anderson, and Percy Adams, Eugene Stephenson, George Lewis, Robert McCreery, Joe Corrin, Gardener Kendall, Edward Stahlfeld, Russell Stowell.
Reverend and Mrs Taft hosted an Easter Monday egg hunt on parsonage grounds drawing ninety-five children. Prizes were awarded.

With the passing of Mrs. Balch Coronado has lost one of its oldest and most loved women. She leaves three daughters Mrs. Jones wife of Bishop Jones Miss Louise and Miss Caroline Balch.
The first meeting of the new Trustees convened at City Hall on Monday afternoon. W. E. Harper was elected chairman and led the election of officers for the term. New appointees include City marshal Harry S. Smith, Deputy marshal Peter J. Glynn, City manager Frank J. Hyatt, City attorney Edwin M. Parker, City recorder B. F. Tyler, Fire chief George Lanven, Health officer Dr. R. Lorini, and Deputy clerk C. W. Robinson. Resignations of Henderson and Harland were noted and held for next meeting.
