The judges Frank Von Tesmar Austin Adams Principal Cutler and Principal Buyer selected the winners of the Saturday Night essay competition. Mr Von Tesmar read several essays while Austin Adams highlighted artistic aspects. The editor did not chair the judging. Eugene Stephenson comments on Coronado civic issues.
Viola Tatum of Coronado High School proposes a Satur day Night editorial section focusing on Southern California readers. She would publish weekly educational pieces and a current events summary, plus a Coronado life notes page to unite citizens and showcase world affairs and sports.
