Woman Rescued After Fall From Ferry Coronado
A U S C student rescued Mrs Bowen after she fell from the ferry Coronado on the Coronado Channel. She was unconscious but stabilized after lifebuoy aid until the crew retrieved them. Bowen was taken to Coronado Hospital with shock and later resumed his holiday at the Hotel del Coronado.

Fire damages pier on the Strand near Coronado

Islanders Beat Oceanside 32 13 to Boost Metro Title Bid
Coronado High earned a key 32 13 victory over Oceanside Friday night lifting them into a three way Metro League tie with La Jolla and Escondido. Ray Ince and Jim Voit each scored twice with Kurt Storch adding a TD and two extra points. Ince returned a punt 66 yards and added an 18 yard scoring run as Coronado struck four times in the fourth period to seal the win.
