Coronado High Band Plans Annual Concert Thursday

Coronado High School band will host its annual concert at 8 p.m. Thursday May 26 in the High School Auditorium under Hal Bremer. Soloists Dorothy Grable on baritone horn with Atlantic Zephyrs and Oran Chenault on trumpet with Czardas are featured.

Admiral Neal Heads Coronado Savings Bond Drive

Rear Adm. George F. Neal of Coronado chairs the Opportunity Drive for U S Savings Bonds. A symbol used is a covered wagon reminding Americans bonds offer a safer path to fortune than crossing plains in a prairie schooner. Thirty wagons flown from Independence Missouri to key cities to attract attention to the drive. The wagons honor the 100th anniversary of the California Gold Rush as explained by Mayor Neal.

The Second Annual Coronado Hospital benefit dance unfolds Friday June 3 at Hotel Lime Coronado Circus Room. Sponsor 20 30 Club led by Chairman Louis McMicker promises music by Bill Perry's orchestra and door prizes including a grand Admiral television. Tickets cost 3.00 per couple, on sale through club members, local firms, or at the door.
