Yacht Club prep and new slips for visiting yachts

Coronado UNCLE JIB reports Yacht Club members spend weekends preparing for the cat event set May 29 to 31. A May 16 work party gathered about seventy members to haul and paint the new slips, including 12 finger slips expanding space for visiting yachts.

San Diego Yacht Club members host busy weekend afloat

The club on Shelter Island welcomed 11 boats from the San Diego Speed Boat Club and 150 members to a lively day of racing and social activities. Jean McClelland and others prepped upholstery while Farrand Watkins and the Parkers painted slips. Alvin Frank sailed the Angela to win first place in the Handicap Race among 32 entries.
