Easter Sunday service at Cutler Field hosted by Coronado Protestant Churches led by Chaplain John W. Weise. The Holy City will be sung with choir rehearsal at 10:30 a.m. A reading by Reverend Hylton Sanders and organist Dorothy Lanning announced. City official Archibald Abel told Kiwanis Club members at La Avenida Cafe that Coronado s redevelopment plan is essential for future prosperity. He cited tidelands use as economically unsound and noted the city currently earns only about 16000 dollars.

Music Society to Begin Summer Concert Series

Tentative plans for a series of five symphonic concerts during the coming summer season were finalized by the Coronado Music Society Auxiliary Committee at the home of S. Gilder D. Jackson Jr. on Alameda Boulevard. The Sunday start is set for July 18.

Admiral Nimitz collection to be displayed in Coronado

The Nimitz service decorations will be shown at the First National Bank in Coronado starting Monday March 29. Walter C. Stitt, assistant vice president, notes the display includes foreign medals from Cuba Argentina France and the Netherlands plus a silver platter and a silver box with signatures from naval attaches and flag officers.

Cross and Stanley Market Opens Under New Policy Motto

The Cross and Stanley Market at 926 Orange Avenue reopened under new ownership with E G Stanley and R G Cross directing operations. They pledge local ownership, free delivery, and a motto of Courtesy Quality and Service while Stanley continues the meat department. The Council, after Fire Chief Welch identified three fire hazards at 1615 San Luis Rey Avenue 771 F Avenue and 813 Eighth Street, ordered condemnation proceedings for those premises. The owner of San Luis Rey already plans voluntary removal. The mayor was authorized to seek legal interpretations of tidelands grant from the Attorney General as the city plans a fresh redevelopment presentation before the State Legislature next year. The Council also appropriated 150 to cover the mayor's continued duties.
