Coronado launches its 1949 March of Dimes drive led by Lions Club volunteers who will place contribution boxes in local businesses. Louis Pollack cites 358 polio cases as motivation while the county chapter reports 1948 expenditures of 166,596.54 mainly for nursing care, medical services, hospital costs and rehabilitation with only 294.89 remaining.

Jonas Ingram of Colorado, High Commissioner of the All-America Football Conference, said yesterday he plans to resign by January 21 after a Chicago meeting to patch up differences with the rival National Football League.

Coronado Youth Club Forming Advisory Board Meeting

The Coronado Youth Club advisory board met to plan a year round program at the Youth Center. Funds from last fall totaling 202 dollars plus 15 from the City Employers Association will be split for high school and junior high activities including dances social events and new sports and musical equipment. Coronation man badly injured in El Cajon hit and run

Emerson Otte, 31, of 477 B Avenue, was seriously injured when his car collided with an unlit hit and run vehicle on a State highway east of El Cajon early Saturday. His car overturned, landed on its wheels, and Otte was treated at La Mesa Hospital for internal injuries and leg injuries after the other car fled.
