Easter Sunrise Service planned in Coronado on golf course

Under Westminster Youth of the local Presbyterian Church and the Coronado Methodist Youth Fellowship an Easter Sunrise Service will be held at 5 30 on the golf course near the ocean. Public invitation extended. If weather moves in the event moves to the Methodist Church Seventh and D. Afterward youth will go to the Presbyterian Church for breakfast.

Coronado Merchants Stage Safety Queen Contest Monday

The Coronado Merchants Association plans a Safety Queen elimination at the new Village Theatre Monday night April 7. Five contestants Billy Sparks Mary Clarke Phyllis Guice Eleanor Vance Gere Moneypenny will give three minute talks judged by audience applause with a $25 war bond prize.

Coronado Residential Association Election Tonight

The Cor noado Residential Association holds its annual officer election at 8 p.m. tonight in City Hall Council Chambers. Admiral C Allen chairs the nominating committee and will report. members may nominate again. A general discussion of local affairs follows the vote.

Merchants Association Backs Coronado Bicycle Path Plan

The Coronado Merchants Association at a special meeting endorsed a bicycle path replacing street car tracks after abandonment. George Heckard proposed the plan to attract visitors and provide a safe right of way with decomposed granite. The group also urged placing a one half of one percent sales tax on the ballot at the next election.
