The Janss Investment company shows Corona Farms properties a mile and a half from the Santa Fe depot north of Corona with lectures starting September 7 in Los Angeles. G S Reynolds heads the Corona Farm Department and lectures on ranch lands and farming in Southern California. County education board recently granted secondary school certificates to Ira Jones and Fern Mildred Harvey along with elementary certificates to several named teachers.
In the past month the Janss company reports strong sales on Corona Farms properties. Buyers include Samuel Sloan of Ashfork Arizona purchasing 10 acres for lemon setting at 3250 dollars and Sterling J Shaw of California acquiring 12 acres for fruit and vegetable crops at 2500 dollars. Dylwin Daniels of Los Angeles bought 30 acres for hog and alfalfa ranch at 7500 dollars, William Kirk of Dennison Texas 15 acres for mixed crops at 5500 dollars, and John Olsen 6 acres at 1500 dollars. Four buyers plan bungalow homes and permanent residence. Fall business is opening, with expectations of heavy ranch demand in the next three months.
The Modern Woodmen of America plan a large Riverside event this Saturday with a parade and an exhibition drill. Delegations from Corona Colton San Bernardino Redlands Rialto Highlands Ontario Upland Hemet Etiwanda and Riverside will join over 300 members in the march. A Royal Neighbors float will feature and a 125 member class will be initiated at Leighton hall after the parade.
R. E. Kelly of the Pacific Electric Railway says the new P E station at Seventh and Market will not open until grounds are fully prepared. Riverside agent position not yet filled but likely soon. The San Bernardino station contract has been awarded and construction will be rushed to complete an attractive building.
Urbita patrons will receive another vaudeville program next Sunday September 12 at the Open Air theater. Edwell offers a double act as a hand illusionist in a tied and nailed in a box stunt, Moffman and Vance perform comedy songs, Rand and Byron present Irish comedy singing and dancing with afternoon and evening dancing.
Indio Date Path notes the Date Growers exhibit at San Francisco and San Diego fairs each won a gold medal with strong praise. The piece urges valley boosters to stay modest while acknowledging proven success and rising confidence.

Superintendent F M Conser of Sherman Indian Institute has been selected by Commissioner Sells to join a Washington D C committee in October. The group will plan an industrial and academic program for all US Indian schools. Conser will depart soon. Mrs. Conser will travel to Alliance Ohio to visit his mother before joining him in Washington.
Carl Preelen a 19 year old German lad who studied at St Boni face Industrial School was shot during a friendly scuffle over a pistol and died after 24 hours of illness. An Indian boy involved was exonerated by the coroner's jury. Preulen had come to America to study farming and attended U C Agricultural School at Davis before being sent to Banning.
School begins Monday at the Sherman Institute with supplies ordered and ready. A number of new pupils are enrolled and several new teachers join the staff.
