The Citrus Belt high school football season opens with Pomona and Chaffey Union atop the standings at 1.000. Chaffey Union defeated Redlands 13 to 0 at Ontario, while Riverside forfeited its game after the cancellation with Riverside left the local team at 1.000.
The Janss Investment Co reports the sale of sixteen and a half acres at Corona Farms to FP C Meinecke for 8500 dollars. Meinecke, already owning a 13 acre grove nearby, purchased the young Corona Farms orchard amid favorable soil water and views. The Corona Farms district borders the lemon shipping hub as buyers shift to hog raising maize poultry and vegetables. Janss notes strong land demand and hosts weekly Corona Farms lectures in Los Angeles each Tuesday.

San Bernardino Oct 24 Assessor KH J Gilbert releases a document alleging Gov Johnson and a pro Johnson press collude with corporate interests to influence state policy. He targets Amendment No 9 which would shift tax power to the Legislature, claiming it benefits big business and boosts state financing. The list includes several attorneys and corporate officials linked to the effort. Continued on page three.
