Two auto loads of local lodge members attended the district meeting at Colton. Past Grand Master W. W. Phelps of Riverside gave the opening address and Grand Master T. W. Duckworth of San Bernardino delivered the response. A question box provided useful info as Phelps and Duckworth answered. A large class of candidates was initiated including Corona residents Frank Krusky and Beauford Baer. The Riverside team conferred the initiatory degree and the Colton team the first degree. A banquet followed the ceremonies.

Friends mourn Mrs W F Brindley who died at the family residence Wild Rose Park Temescal at 6 pm Tuesday after a brief illness linked to nervous prostration. The Methodist church held services Wednesday with Rev Wesley Ko Beans presiding and a choir tribute to the deceased.

Col J W Wager of Ocean Park returned Tuesday from Alton Illinois where he attended the reunion of the 50th Illinois regiment He received the invitation by epistle which carried a note that the boys wished to see the kid of the regiment again The man who ran away from home at fifteen to join the Union army traveled from California to visit and served as toastmaster at the banquet after the reunion.
