Dairy Inspection in Corona Dairies Reports Needed Changes

State Dairy Inspector Hassen of Hollywood led a tour yesterday with Dr. W. S. Davis local health officer Mayor W. J. Pentelow and Trustee E. J. Gene­reux. The group found that several changes in dairy arrangements and conditions are required and owners were notified to conform to standards. A follow up inspection will verify that recommendations are carried out.

Pastor J W Utter Honored by Christian Church Parishioners

The Christian church mid week service honored Rev. J W Utter on completing his first year as pastor. Parishioners spoke on loyalty to leadership and promised continued support. Sportsmen Return From Big Bear Valley Hunt

F M Baird James L Davis of Corona and A Wilt of Los Angeles head a party that returned from Big Bear valley after several days. Other members include H L Glass M W Wells Claud Thursby C C Tribou Mel Morgan and J A Vassey of Pasadena to come back tonight or tomorrow. Davis praised the trip calling it the finest in California in 16 years with limited duck hunting and scarce fish and noted cold mornings forming ice and frozen birds. The party rode the crest road back home amid fast morning gunfire from other groups rather than a leisurely hunt.

American Bloodshed At Mexican Border Reported From Naco Arizona

The Oct. 17 Phoenix dispatch notes five Americans, four soldiers, wounded by Mexican bullets during an attack on Naco. One soldier was shot in the temple, another in the lungs, near the boundary. Two Mexican women on the American side also wounded. Governor Hunt asks the federal government to allow the wounded to cross the line on humanity grounds as Maytorena’s forces threaten Naco and officials anticipate its fall.

Washington Oct 17 Secretary of the Navy Daniels canceled the prior order to close the Marconi wireless station in Honolulu after the company sent an apology for revealing the presence of a German cruiser there several days earlier.
