Germans Form Fresh Push Toward Paris Front

London dispatches say Germany tries another rapid sweeping move toward Paris as a great battle opens along the French Belgian border. About 50 000 Germans left Ghent heading toward Bruges with Ostend as objective. Over 600 Germans killed and 400 captured in the Antwerp retreat. General Marcot reported killed near Arras as Berlin cites plans to besiege Belfort.

Confession in Lad Towers Accidental Killing of Mathew Harris

Alvah Tower a 16 year old from Sara Washington confessed to Sheriff Cresap that an accidental gun discharge during a musk rat hunt killed his playmate Mathew Harris last Saturday. He dragged the body to Whipple Creek and hid it fearing his mother would be shocked. An inquest held. Tower held by the sheriff after aiding a large search. Mathews Harris was son of a prominent Sara merchant. Mrs Cresap obtained the confession.

Mrs A H Larrabee entertained about thirty children at her Washburn avenue home in two sessions to celebrate the fourth birthday of her daughter Francis Margaret.
