A Corona High School era note urges writers to prepare a set of topics for a Chamber of Commerce sponsored letter campaign. It lists subjects from industries and farming to roads, schools, churches and parks, and ends with a personal travel and hunting letter describing California's climate roads and a duck hunt near La Mosquito Rancho.
The fragmentary text presents two letters dated November 1916 from Corona California. One describes Corona’s valley setting, surrounding mountains, crops, and distance to riverside and Los Angeles. The other corrects a friend’s climate assumption, arguing California winters are mild with modest rainfall and roads of cement or macadam, urging a visit to verify conditions.
An early 20th century health notice extols daily morning internal cleansing with hot water and limestone phosphate to purify the stomach liver kidneys and bowels. It claims clearer skin, rosy complexion, and increased vitality for both men and women, urging purchase of a quarter pound of limestone phosphate.
An oral English class debated whether turkey is undesirable for beginners. The affirmative won the judge’s ruling, but the teacher kept the turkey for the negative. Corona high school notes include football wins and a Riverside debate.
Corona High School led the county debates with a decisive 3 to 0 verdict for the affirmative against Perris, Riverside, and San Jacinto in an opening season clash. Riverside and Hemet also posted wins in a round that drew about 150 students and townspeople.
