Reports from Ireland confirm that the Audacious, a major British super dreadnaught, sank off the north coast of Ireland after being hit by a mine or torpedo on October 27. Most of its crew perished, with only a few saved by the White Star Liner Olympic after the vessel sent a wireless distress call.
A public call invites all Corona residents to a mass meeting at City Hall on Tuesday at 7 30 p m. to support the California relief expedition aiding Belgian sufferers. Mayor Pentelow urges unity and action, noting California's shipload aid and widespread chamber support.
Miss Bessie Nelson of Riverside arrived in Corona last evening to stay several days as the guest of Miss Dorothy Bell.
