New Lodge Instituted in Sycola County
A new lodge was instituted in Co sygua on Wednesday evening by Tippecanoe Council No. 81 Pocahontas I O R M with 48 charter members. River side Council assisted under district deputy Mrs J W Painter, as 25 members traveled from Riverside for the event. Officers installed included Alma Lloyd Pocahontas Eliz Daniels Winona Olive Crabtree and others. A candlelit banquet followed the ceremony with corn and venison, praised for J W Woolworth’s catering. Vandalism damaged a fountain on Sixth Street and Corona Gun Club prank artwork caused amusement the next morning.

Several changes in business locations in town
Geo L Ferguson of the Red Front Grocery travels to Los Angeles to arrange a lease for new quarters. The Red Front will gain space and better displays within ten days. The First National Bank moves its safe to the former Citizens Bank quarters, while Citizens Bank relocates to the Queen Colony Fruit Exchange site. Corona National Bank plans to open about the 14th at the Red Front location. J D S Peach moves his “hens stand” to the Sixth and Main corner, with a barber shop opening in Peach’s former quarters.
