Corona Players Defeat Hammond Lumber Team 11 to 7

Corona defeated the Hammond Lumber company team of Los Angeles 11 to 7. Rafel Jim, Corona’s Indiana second baseman, hit a homer in the third inning and starred with strong batting throughout the game. Wells started for Corona and Hendrix pitched for Hammond.

Mexican Man Killed. Robles Cleared in Coroner Verdict

In a North Main Street shooting near Grand Boulevard Mexican Lozano Cano died after exchanging insults with A. Robles, a police special investigator. Robles claimed self defense and was freed by a coroner's jury, with the verdict justifiable and his gun returned.

Country club musical program delights audience

Mrs. G. R. Freeman organized a Saturday evening at the Country club featuring a reading by Mrs. Jno. P. Key, a sketch with Miss Madeline Willard, and a Mexican señorita performing dances, drawing a delighted audience.

Death of Carlos McCully Laments Local Youth

The community mourns 17 year old Carlos McCully son of Mr and Mrs W C C McCully of El Cerrito ramchoz Riverside City hospital. He was born February 7 1898 in Mexico and moved to California as a child. He died after complications from liver abscess following an operation. funeral services planned for tomorrow afternoon with details continued on page three.

Local man hailed as great living hymn writer Dr Staley

Bold robbery hits hardware firm as pistols and knives stolen

Glass Bros. hardware store was robbed between midnight and daybreak Sunday. Seven pistols and between forty and fifty pearl handled knives were taken, along with about $5 in small change. Two professional burglars used an eight inch window opening and a rear door to enter. Police describe two men in an old Auburn car as suspects.
