A ten by six foot Boost sign for Corona is being painted by an expert and will be placed near the depot for high visibility to tourists. The design features the Circle City Grand Boulevard and cites Corona as the fastest and safest speedway and the largest shipping point of lemons in America. Auto Club Men Inspect Road Signs Here

The Franklin truck from the Auto Club of Southern California visited this city Wednesday afternoon and headed to Elsinore and San Diego to install and repaint road signs. Manned by J Garey and P C Sprague the vehicle carried a half ton of equipment and a full camping outfit. The crew praised the sign service and noted the vehicle which crossed Death Valley earlier planted sign posts on desert roads.

Twenty Philothea girls met at Miss Grace Davey’s home and escorted Mrs. Ralph Webster to a surprise shower. They presented a useful gifts collection and treated guests to sandwiches nuts pickles and fruit. The Baraca class added a rocking chair as a gift to Mr. Webster.

Inspection Near Ben White Oil Well in Temescal Canyon

Lake Elsinore Valley Press reports a team including Superintendent J A Crane Chas Hudson Monte Cambera and E R Gray visited the Ben White well in Temescal canyon. The well at 1730 feet shows red shale and pockets of gas, with 12 inch casing for 1000 feet and 18 inch casing for the rest. If drilling continues, oil potential remains favorable with Ful lerton shale similarity noted.

Growth of city attested by council action

The Corona trustees approved Ordinance No 274 for second reading to broaden fire limits on Main Street between the Santa Fe depot and Sixth Street. The move blocks substandard cheap buildings and aims to improve the district’s appearance. The meeting also considered oiling street improvements, awnings for City Hall, and sidewalk grade stakes before Howard Street work, with several items referred to the proper committees.
