Masked bandits rob Pacific Electric car near San Dimas
Two masked robbers boarded the Pacific Electric train near Lone Hill just after 10:40 pm. They stripped ten forward-car passengers of valuables and forced conductor Lewis to surrender, while a lone woman hid in the lavatory to escape. A large posse chase is underway across San Dimas Covina Pomona and Claremont.

Temescal Canyon Road Upgrade Moves Forward
County highway officials led by S. Evans T. Hamner and W. C. Barth surveyed the Temescal canyon highway from Hoag's hill toward the olive grove to shorten the route and ease grades. The plan requires removing about fifteen olive trees and requires rancher agreement on right of way before construction begins. Additional southeast adjustments are proposed to further reduce grades and hairpin turns once rights of way are secured.
