Ralph De Palma won the fifth 500 mile international sweepstakes at Indianapolis with a time of five hours 33 minutes 55% seconds at an average 89.84 mph. Memorial Day Observed in Corona with Veterans Honored
Memorial Day observances in Corona united civic and patriotic groups. Twelve Civil War veterans led a city hall procession to the Congregational church for a Memorial sermon by Rev. J A Roys, with Spanish American War veterans and the Veterans Aid Society. Graves at Sunnyslope cemetery were decorated by G A R members, schoolchildren, and veterans, followed by patriotic music from Craig's Orchestra and a Bible verse.
