Two Mexican gunmen die after Mono Lake chase
In Reno, two unknown Mexican fugitives were shot and killed after a running pursuit by a posse of about fifty men near Mono Lake. Sheriff J. P. Dolan of Mona County was mortally wounded during the ambush while attempting to arrest them for arson at Silosena ranch. A deputy was wounded as the chase ended with the Mexicans’ deaths.

Receivership Terminated in Citrus Belt Case
San Bernardino July 27 Creditors of the Citrus Belt Gas Co will soon receive shares of a $250000 stock issue authorized by the state railroad commission to settle the San Bernardino Valley Gas merger. Receiver Dubbell will hand the property to the company after a directors meeting, ending a receivership dating from August 1 1912. Creditors receive about 69 percent of claims based on the $250000 stock.

Barber Tied to Bed as Robbers Set Fire to Shop
Two masked men entered a Brooklyn barber shop on Rogers Avenue and tied proprietor Thomas Culcasi to a rear bed. They struck him, took $14 and a gold watch, then set the mattress on fire. Andreas Brandus, who lived above, freed Culcasi and alerted others. The blaze caused about 2000 dollars in damage.
