General Villa telegraphed that Queretaro, eighty miles north of Mexico City, had fallen and that Obregon’s sources were cut off from Vera Cruz. Carranza reports restoration of normal conditions, reopening of the cable to Vera Cruz, and resumption of direct rail service to supply the capital. Carranza says a special train carried treasury interior and post office staff and that provisions are being sent with guarantees for natives and foreigners.
