Fraudulent Passport Case Ties German Attache to Scheme
President Wilson received a letter from Mrs Richard Stegler wife of a German reservist arrested in New York for fraudulently obtaining an American passport. She says her husband was led into the plan by Captain Boyd naval attache of the German embassy who promised $450 a month for information on the location of the British fleet and the wife would get the same if he provided it.

Forty Warships Shell Turkish Fortifications
Allied fleet of forty warships reportedly penetrated the Dardanelles to within range of Fort Intepe on the Asian side. Fort Intepe is said to have been demolished by heavy shellfire while Turkish fortifications at Dardanos and nearby areas faced bombardment. A French squadron cruised under the entrance forts as the forts were reportedly dismantled.
