From Petrograd to London reports say Russian regiments broke siege in East Prussia and held positions while minor Carpathian gains followed desperate fighting. Berlin counts 10000 prisoners at Przanysz with 5000 more near the Vistula. British replies mention Russian access to the sea and Constantinople talks.
London reports two more small British steamers sunk near the sea war zone with ten ships lost overall. A Deptford crew member died after twenty minutes in a snow storm, others rescued. some claim to have seen a submarine wake after the attack. A coaling steamer off Beachey End was also sunk with crew saved at Portsmouth.
Federal league officials announced the Kansas City club will be transferred to Newark New Jersey for the upcoming season.
Des Moines reports Governor Clarke signed repeal of the Mulet law making Iowa a prohibition state effective after January 1 1916.
The Spanish priests who supported former provisional president Huerta and resisted Obregon's army will be deported by General Carranza. De Negri, former Mexican consul at San Francisco, said the priests faced the expulsion after alleged failure to pay a war assessment of half a million pesos.
Chicago officials report that temperance activists who helped push Arizona dry have been hired by local parties to lead a similar prohibition campaign in Chicago.
Los Angeles February 25. With only two and a half business days left, taxpayers must file income and corporate tax returns with Collector John P. Carter by Monday 4:30 p.m. A net income of 3000 dollars or more requires timely submission or face a mandatory fine of 20 to 1000 dollars. Many residents queued for forms and guidance on the new law.

Denver February 25. No further attempts will be made to capture Tse Ne Gat and his Pintee band until Indian agents offer another surrender. If they refuse a second time Marshal Nebeker's posse will surround and arrest them. The fugitives are encamped near Bluff City Utah and are strongly entrenched. They threaten to shoot all posse members on sight.
La Corona theatre offered a varied program last night with educational pictures and comedy features. A vaudeville troupe drew crowds with clean jokes and clever songs, and an entire program change was announced for tonight.

In New York on Web 25 Twen six cars of oranges and two cars of lemons sold. Oranges remained unchanged while lemons fell ten cents. Average orange prices ranged from 1.55 to 2.86 per crate, with the top price at 3.30 for Paul Neyron. It is raining and the eight o'clock temperature was 49 degrees.
