Wm Middlesworth, sought by warrant issued last Tuesday, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of running a blind pig. After a preliminary exam he was freed on $300 bond. His case set for Monday at ten before Justice Hull. Police traced booze to his establishment after a Sunday assault and theft tied to Hoyt Hays and Brown.
Miss Jennie Boyd former Corona schools teacher wed Riverside man Frank Merryfield at the home of Mrs L L Andrews. Only immediate family present as Rev Ches ter Ferris officiated. The couple will reside at 406 Mulberry Street Riverside after a five course breakfast and honeymoon in parts unknown.
All men of the Grand Army and ladies of the Veterans Aid are urged to meet at E P Kidder’s home at Eighth and Ramon a streets Sunday evening before 7 15 to march to the Congregational church. A special George Washington service with address and music will be held there.
A strong bid to upgrade the boulevard is under way with pledges to fund cement curb and gutter along over 3000 feet. Property owners, seeking city grading and graveling, back the plan as the Automobile Club of Southern California offers financial help. The council discussed costs and next steps, with petitions circulating among residents and a notable move to remove peanut wagons and tamale stands.

Funeral held for 31 year old John E. Ficken who died at Arlington hospital last Friday after traveling post quake seeking health. He was born in San Francisco and survived by father Lewis and siblings George, Lewis, Lucy, and Mrs Mary Clark. George attended the ceremony in San Francisco.
Miss Helen Platt a well known Corona and Riverside County figure dies after a two week illness at her Boulevard and Garrison avenue home. The longtime orchardist and social worker was a charter member of the Woman's Improvement Club and remembered for charitable work. Funeral set for 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Chester Perris officiating.
Arthur L. Taber nears completion of a new concrete building on East Sixth street and considers erecting another on the adjacent lot east of the skating rink. The ongoing construction is boosting property values along East Sixth street.
Bishop Edwin H. Hughes will dedicate the enlarged Methodist church here on February 27. The preacher is described as of great power and a choice treat awaits Corona residents.
Brown and Hayes are held on charge in Superior Court. The incident remains under investigation as authorities pursue further details and potential formal charges.
Brown arrested on suspicion in the Thomas Hoyt robbery last Sunday was bound over to the Superior Court after a Wednesday preliminary hearing. Bail set at 500 dollars. he was released. Perry Hays, ill until today, had a ten o'clock hearing and was also bound over to the Superior Court with 500 dollars bail.
Mrs. E. A. Eastman died at her daughter's home in Corona. She was 82, born near Ogdensburg New York, married in Canada in 1853. Survived by daughters Mrs. James Watson and Mrs. H. T. Sinclair and sons Daniel and Chas Eastman. Funeral from Episcopal church tomorrow at 2 p.m. Rey Mley will officiate. Burial at Sunny Slope Cemetery.
