Newton and Hoss delivered a Ford to Temescal Rock company on Saturday and handed a car to Mr C J Joy north of town. Newton said the delivery marked a victory amid a freight car shortage that has stalled Model T movements from Detroit. The two cars were the first local agents secured in two weeks after a rush in Los Angeles to obtain them.

Kenwood Hotel Fire Claims Thirteen Lives in Minneapolis
A midnight blaze at the Kenwood hotel in Minneapolis killed thirteen people, with twelve bodies recovered in the debris and one woman dying after jumping from a third floor window. The fire began on the lower floor and an estimated 68 residents were endangered, with at least twelve guests injured. An explosion of gasoline in the basement is suspected to have sparked the fire.
