British reports say Hartlepool suffered 55 dead and 115 wounded while Scarborough tallies 17 dead and 30 wounded. Whitby records 2 dead and 2 wounded. Seven Hartlepool dead and fourteen wounded were soldiers from Kitner's new army. Authorities brace for further raids as Dover plans population removal and coast defenses expand.
