Rancher dies from burns after oil can explodes
Walter Caseboom, a noted Corona rancher and orange grower, was severely burned when a can of oil near a stove exploded while he tried to extinguish a small fire. His wife also suffered serious burns. the house and contents burned, barn saved by neighbor effort. He died at noon with his father en route. Funeral plans unknown.

Runaway Team Stopped After Baggage Falls Near Depot
One of J. R. King's teams pulling a Pioneer Transfer wagon frightened at the depot Monday morning and bolted toward town with trunks. All baggage stayed in the rig except one trunk that fell out near the International Grocery. the runaway was halted without damage.

Tuesday Musical Recital At Mrs Newtons Home
A rainy afternoon reduced attendance at the Tuesday Musical Club recital held at Mrs E P Newton home. Miss Platt chaired the section and introduced the American born composers Clough Leighter Coleridge Taylor. Performances included Liszt rhapsody No 2 by Bates Wollitz Chopin mazurka by Platt and a Schutt valse by Miss Todd with life sketch. The program ended with a quartet by Bates Harding Newkirk Findley and the next meeting is Jan 4 1910.
