Fatal Accident Claims Mr M M Randall
Former Corona resident M M Randall died after a tree trimming accident on Magnolia Avenue. A limbs fell from a high ladder, breaking the ladder and hurling him to the ground. Despite injuries including dislocated hip and shoulder, rib fractures and a pierced lung, he dragged to the highway and received aid. He died before hospital transfer. He leaves a wife, four children, and a daughter in Corona. Funeral held at Magnolia residence with Rev. Wentworth officiating. interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Riverside.

Ruth Ashton Corkhill, 14 years old, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm Corkhill, died early Monday after weeks of illness. A Corona native born February 3, 1897 she was a freshman at the local high school. Gas accident at local plant trench injures four workers
Tuesday evening J P Grant superintendent of San Bernardino Valley Gas Co aided by Herbert Mayhew and two Mexican workers were replacing a defective gas main on West Sixth Street when a sudden gas inrush caused asphyxiation. Mayhew acted comically and attracted bystanders who rescued the men. Grant recovered quickly and returned home, while one Mexican required a physician and the others suffered no lasting effects. All have since recovered.

Miss Ruth Vankirk Undergoes Appendicitis Operation
Miss Ruth Vankirk eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Geo Vankirk attended a Tuesday Musical club event at the High School auditorium when she left the concert due to sharp side pain. On returning home she grew very ill a physician diagnosed appendicitis and she was moved to Riverside hospital for an operation from which she is recovering nicely according to latest reports.
