Corona Board of Trade met in the Glass Building with President Pentelow in the chair. A trolley connection study with Arlington line was planned and a depot sign project authorized. George S. Sheen proposed a private modern hospital for Corona with doctors’ access and city site. a special committee was named. Multiple special committees for ways and means advertising streets transportation and more were appointed, signaling renewed city progress.

Hand Injury From Sawing At Jameson Packing House

Alfred Humble, aiding T. B. June on the Jameson packing house addition, severely burned his left hand Monday. A saw caused a gash on the back of his hand and thumb. a turpentine bandage ignited while he lit a pipe, burning flesh to the bone.

The Ladies' Aid Society of the Methodist church changes the venue of Dr Mc Leish's lecture to the Baptist church on Thursday evening due to repairs at the Methodist building. The talk remains under the same auspices and will not be rescheduled.

Woman Injured In Auto Accident Near Corona

A party of six from Los Angeles traveling to Elsinore duck hunted collided with an open bridge west of Corona at about 30 mph. Mrs J L Westrem suffered a severe scalp contusion and was treated by Dr Smith in Corona. The women stayed at Del Rey hotel while others continued to Elsinore and returned by train that evening.

Funeral of William Archer Buoys Local Memory in Texas Return

The body of William Archer arrived from Texas on Friday and his funeral was held at 2:30 PM Saturday at the family residence with Rev. Chester Ferris presiding. Four old companions provided hymns and a letter from Archer's Texas mother spoke of a touching moment as she played Nearer My God to Thee while he sang at the stairs. Death from lung hardening occurred at 10:00 AM Monday.

State board presses railroad tax in 1910 drive

Sacramento reports the state board of equalization will meet December 13 with county assessors to push for higher railroad taxation. State Controller A B Nye will join to ensure railroads pay taxes similar to prior years despite lower local rates after assessment increases. The board plans to keep the levy at 4 percent of railroad gross earnings, with an estimated $300,000 rise in assessed railroad value.
