Untimely End of Young Man at Long Beach
Roy E. Sweetser, 29, son of Mr and Mrs W F Sweetser, died in the Pacific near Long Beach after a period of despondency and mental disturbance caused by a severe diabetes attack. A Minneapolis bookkeeper, he had come to Corona in hopes of relief, leaving a wife and young daughter. He had sought various doctors without relief.

Riverside County Highway Progress Opens Soon
Riverside authorities announced the first two completed sections of the county highway system will open to public travel within thirty days. A mile west of Hemet and two miles between Box Springs and Alessandro are nearly finished with concrete work. Concrete work on 1.25 miles out of Hemet toward San Jacinto will begin today.
