Permits Sought and Building Ordinance Move Forward

At an adjourned city trustees meeting no quorum existed and actions were deferred. F W Alden sought basement access for a pool hall lunch room and barber shop with a sidewalk cut in guarded by an iron railing. Building permits were issued to Walter A Nunn and EK B Collier, while two other permit requests were tabled for ordinance conflicts.

Lorelei Club Celebrates Bethel Barth Birthday

The Lorelei Club held a surprise birthday celebration for Miss Bethel Barth at the Barth home on Ninth and Howard streets. Members, led by instructor Mrs. Juliet Powell Rice, decorated with roses and sang on the porch before entering. Refreshments followed and several anniversary remembrances were given.
