Two fast submarine chasers are under construction in Chicago for rapid Atlantic service. The Kanawha and Disturber VI boast high speeds, heavy armament, and government use as models for 200 more ships. The Kanawha measures 225 feet with 475 tons and a 65 man crew. Disturber VI can reach 75 mph, carries a 4.7 inch gun, and is designed for near invisibility at long range.
Enrico Blasco a San Francisco jewelry salesman and his wife moved into 21 Scotland Street on Saturday. He wandered the neighborhood at suppertime and did not return. Mrs Blasco notified police. he returned in the early hours claiming memory loss of the street address and city.
Corona Independent and California Cultivator promote a contest offering large extra votes for paid subscriptions. Options include 15 000 extra votes for 10, 25 000 for 15, and 50 000 for 25. Renewals or new subscriptions quickly add thousands of votes, encouraging contestants to raise funds this week.
Berkeley April 11 D E W Gifford of California university anthropology reported added proof that American Indians are of the lost tribes of Israel. He cited similar rites between the Kawaiisu people of the Kefn river area and ancient Hebrews noting the widow’s widow’s firstborn son as the deceased’s child, a custom observed by the Kawailisu alongside biblical law.
