Woman's Club Art Exhibit Showcases California Watercolors

Courtesy of Mr. Con way Griffith the Woman's Club hosted thirty two original water color paintings at Mrs. E. P. Newton's home yesterday afternoon. Hostesses included Mrs. Newton and Mrs. Dr. Huff with Miss Lewis. Music by Mrs. Bates and Miss Bates accompanied refreshments. Many works depict Elsinore Catalina San Juan Capistrano and Laguna scenes and a number are mission views made for Frank Miller of the Glenwood Mission Inn for hotel decorations.

Stanton Addresses Gubernatorial Bid in Corona

Philip A. Stanton a Republican candidate for governor spoke to a large Corona crowd at Sixth and Main streets after Judge Noyes praised his eight years in the state legislature. Stanton presented his record and urged support, as a party delegation toured Southern California boosting his nomination.

Corona residents rally for Riverside county fair plan

Riverside committee members told a Corona Board of Trade meeting of plans for a county fair with 23 directors from Corona Arlington and Riverside. The railroad offers Chemawa park as grounds free for five years. stock at 10 dollars per share to fund buildings and admission. A next meeting is set for Friday night April 15 urging wider local support.

Mrs W H Jameson Elected School Trustee

Mrs W H Jameson won a three year term as school trustee by a 25 vote plurality over J A Newton in Corona with 189 votes cast. She is the second woman to serve as trustee in the district and will take office July 1.
