The regular city trustees meeting reports Raney's resignation as marshal at a grand mass meeting of men and women voters in Glass Hall. Special policeman Alexander was appointed to fill the vacancy. The council discussed ordinances elevating liquor limits and electric rates with notable changes to minimum charges and tariff structures.

The east side of Main Street changes from the and stand at Right hand Main to the Stege Building at 519 Main Street, two doors from Sixth.

Friday evening the Junior class hosted a party at the home of Mrs Carol Jameson on Howard street and the Boulevard. A lively program featured partner dances, songs, a Madagascar talk, a circus number, animal themes, dressmaking, and a pin craft activity, with Miss Emily Jameson delivering a solo. Refreshments of ice cream, cake, peppermints and chocolate were served.
A Monday afternoon reception on Ninth Street honored Miss Irene Wadey of Los Angeles, a pupil of Eller Beach, with music by Miss Mabel McVicar and Miss Grace Taber. A surprise moving picture show and a palm reading ‘fortune’ booth entertained attendees, including Miss Mary Frazer who received the first palm reading with a chalk-marked palm. Tea was served by the hostess and her cousin Miss Mildred Mull.
Attorney Walter S. Clayson spoke at Glass Hall to Corona women about city government, ordinances, initiative, recall and referendum, and the path to a city charter. He urged practical action, discussed polling plates, park site options, and answered questions. next meeting invites all voters.
The next lecture in the National Brotherhood course by Dr William Horace will be held Thursday evening in April in Los Angeles. He will discuss High Points in California with mountain experiences illustrated by his Kodak views. This is the final lecture in the present course. attendees are urged to support the promoters.
A blaze erupted Monday evening in a rear second story room of the Commercial Hotel between Fourth and Fifth streets on Main. Firemen responded quickly. the stove exploded causing most damage and water damage spread to nearby areas. The incident drew a large crowd as the city awaits the new fire track to improve response.
Riverside and Corona high schools faced off on Country Club courts in a Saturday event. Margit Borchgrevink defeated Viola Van Kerk with 6 4 6 as well as Astrid Borchgrevink besting Vera Van Kirk to claim the close singles results.
The Woman's Progressive league and the Good Government league plan a Saturday class meeting at three o'clock to present the pros and cons of Corona's proposed park sites. Mr. L R Nichols will explain proposition No 1 for the east side site offered by the San Jacinto Land company and details of proposition No 2 for the west side site.
Anna Carter defeated Carol Jameson 6-0 6-2 in singles. Pedley and Bakewell won 6-3 in doubles. Borchgre vank and M A Borchgre vink won girls doubles 6-2. Mixed doubles Pedley and Borchgrevink beat Van Kirk and Birdsall 6-2 6-2. Carter and Bakewell beat Jameson and Hampton 6-8 7-1 6-4.

Patrick Carey about 44 died after a fall at Walker quarry on Monday. He reportedly had an epileptic fit while working. colleagues nearby saw the episode before the fall. He remained unconscious for about twenty five minutes. Funeral plans pending as efforts try to reach his sister in Canada.
