Final Rites for William Riddell
Funeral services for William Riddell will be held at the Baptist church at Eighth and Main at 2 30 PM Monday with Rev Fred Wight officiating. Masons will guard the grave at Sunnyslope. Riddell, born December 3 1865 in Packenham Ontario Canada, came to Corona in 1887 and lived there the rest of his life. He married Minnie Wall in 1891. he leaves a son Alfred of San Diego, a sister in Kinburn Canada and a half brother in Winnipeg.

Watts Convicted for Murder on Desert
In San Bernardino on Sept 5 Joseph H. Watts age 26 formerly of Cambridge Mass was found guilty of murdering Wilfred Hey an Englishman on a desert road near Silverlake last November. The jury considered the death penalty. Watts aided by his brother Robert forged Hey identity and stole his bank funds before living grandly in San Francisco. Hey's body was found December 26 1924 with a note on how to transfer the bank account.
