Corona prepares for a city wide cleanup starting Monday. City trustees back the mayor’s proclamation and coordinate with police and fire departments to improve alleys streets and vacant lots. Owners of vacant property will be urged to trim weeds and tidy up to present a neat civic image.
Paris May 14 France's famed one armed World War hero General Mangin died yesterday after a sudden appendicitis attack. Uremic poisoning worsened his condition despite doctors efforts to save him.
Mrs. Harry Verner and her children with Mr. and Mrs. Richardson fished Big Bear last Saturday. The group landed 27 salmon rainbow and speckled trout and returned to Corona on Wednesday reporting excellent fishing at the mountain resort.
Students at the Junior High school prepare for a late month tennis tournament featuring girls singles boys singles and mixed doubles for seventh and eighth graders. Elimination contests run this week as the school builds a strong orchestra with frequent solo or duet performances during assemblies. About 25 to 30 members practice regularly.

Mrs. George Snidecor hosts a luncheon this afternoon for Miss Ruth Jameson, who will wed Mr. Charles Sorter of San Francisco on June 16. The guest list consists of Jameson’s classmates from the local high school and a few former teachers.
In San Jose on May 14 Elimination of I Rhoades from the board and as president of the California Prune and Apricot Growers association ends his tenure after hours of meeting debate. Seven old board members were re elected three new directors join the board and five new directors were chosen. Directors re elected include W J O Connor W A Yerxa George Duvander C D Cavallero Hugh Hersman J C Hayes and W Aldo Rohnert Hellister.
The United Spanish War Veterans department of California met in Santa Monica and chose Yosemite Valley as the site for their 1926 convention.
Five nurses graduated from Riverside hospital school of nursing Tuesday. Attorney Lyman Evans presented the diplomas with editor I P Clarke of the Riverside Press delivering an address. The class included Lillian Minerd Esther Ramsdale Mary E McMillan Ruth Hopper and Alexia Kuehner.
