Scholarship Club Elects Officers for Semester

Harry Hill was elected president of the high school Scholarship Society with Florence Hill as vice president and John Sundecor as secretary, Arthur Tuthill as treasurer. Sixty members joined this semester, the largest in the school's history, with Miss Muriel Powell unavailable due to illness.

Stuttgart Station Transmits American Radio to Germany

Stuttgart, Germany, announces new access for subscribers to its southern German radio circuit. After experiments the Stuttgart station has perfected a method to relay American radio programs. A recent Sunday midnight concert from Pittsburgh was broadcast to listeners on a 443 meter wave.

Judge Archbald Addresses Corona Audience on Child Welfare

Judge H. B. Archbald of Los Angeles spoke at the Woman's Club on child welfare, praising the juvenile court and calling for bettering the growing generation. Mrs. C. Gully, club president, supervised the event before a receptive crowd.

Parkridge Smoker Planned for Tuesday Evening

Parkridge members will hold a smoker and social evening next Tuesday at the Hotel Kinney with invitations extended to women. Officers will give talks. Parkridge pro Captain Eric McNaught reports rapid progress on the 18 hole championship golf course with 14 tees and greens graded and nine holes nearing play. Kalina Named City Clerk in Elsinore Appointment

Italians Fined by Judge Stahl

Two Italians J Callera and PT Galltheaz were sentenced by Justice H K Stahl to fines of 500 dollars each for possession of liquor. Callera’s 350 dollars was suspended and 250 of Galltheaz’s fine was suspended. Callera was shot in the arm by an unknown assailant after arrest and remained wounded in court.
