Annual Meeting of Orange Heights Fruit Association
The Orange Heights Fruit Association held its annual meeting at the association house on Tuesday June 28 with about fifty members present. Manager M D Anderson reported a satisfactory season and substantial savings from returns, plus a tax refund to members. Directors were elected: Charles T Briggs E Godwin Austin C B E Noble J B Cooke G W Waterbury L A Fink W C Barth A P Pusick H L Whitcomb. A resolution honored retiring Vice President L Hazelwood Smith for his untiring work and loyal service.

Bandits Target Santa Ana Canyon Motorists
A warning from Santa Ana reports highwaymen robbing drivers in the Santa Ana canyon near the Riverside county line. A. D. Hawkins of Fullerton was held up Monday evening, robbed of 24.70 dollars, two watches, and a shotgun, and beaten. The incident prompted a request to Orange and Riverside county supervisors to dispatch motor police patrols through the canyon.

Riverside Supervisors Abandon Bond Election Plan
After a two hour discussion the Riverside County Board of Supervisors voted to abandon plans for a highway and bridge bond election. County Engineer A C Fulmer estimated costs at about 973 890 or 300 000 over bonding capacity, citing insufficient support across the county. He put Corona Elnsore highway at 165 760 for 8 5 miles and Hamner avenue at 78 500 for five miles. Corona representatives J S Campbell F J Mueller and L L Andrews attended the meeting.
