Metropolitan Water District officials announce one of the largest earth fill projects in Southern California to create the Cajalco reservoir northeast of Riverside. The dam will be 190 feet high, 0.5 mile long, using 7.3 million cubic yards of dirt, financed by a $36 million Reconstruction Finance Corp. loan.

They will sing Gounod Second Mass in full and Dudley Buck The Chorus of Bishops and Priests with Mrs Hilda Liebig on organ and Jack Bergin on piano. Frank Newsom and Norco are mentioned as associated.
The president of the Cantadores arranged the Sunday concert appearance. The noted chorus has earned wide acclaim from Southern critics for its ensemble singing and soloists. The Cantadores performed last summer at the city park under Rotary Club auspices.
Nearly 500 tuna roam the Pacific bearing metal tags in their gill covers as part of a migration study. Tags were placed by the Division of Fish and Game from the Depart ment of Natural Resources, mainly off Costa Rica with some tagging from Lower California to Panama. Ninety eight skipjack were also tagged and freed under H. C. Godsil’s supervision at the State Fisheries Laboratory.
After four and a half years in the restaurant business Mrs H Reed has sold Ma Baldwins cafe to Lewis Baker who now runs the place. Reed plans a long rest at her home near West Sixth and Lincoln. The new owner previously operated a business in a Midwestern state and admires Coron.
Margarita Vasquez daughter of Mr and Mrs Susana Vasquez of 407 Belle street died shortly after 1 am yesterday at Arlington hospital. Survived by four sisters Kathleen Elvira Louise Gloria and three brothers Manuel Antonia Jesus. Funeral mass at St Edwards Catholic church at 9 am tomorrow with Rev Father James O Shea and burial at Sunnyslope cemetery under T J Willis of Chino.
Glenn Warper was installed as president of the Corona Rotary by retiring head Graham. Newt Cattern presented the past president pin as the club outlined plans to pursue Rotary ideals with fun and service. The Dunkers provided entertainment as Key reported the club’s finances show sound projects and good condition.
In Bucharest Prince Michael, 13, asked King Carol to stop tucking him in after passing his exams with honors. The prince said his reports show he is no longer a baby. The king agreed that Michael may go to bed by himself from now on.
