Four boys aged eight to ten narrowly escape a garage fire sparked by cigarette smoking and mishandled gasoline in an alley behind 920 Fullerton Ave. Mrs. Elsie Robertson owned the structure. Firefighters say the boys poured fuel on a bench, reignited, and fled as flames spread. Scout volunteers Frank Kearns and Richard Guillen aided by assisting neighbors with hoses before help arrived.

Corona Gets $34,552 Sales Tax Revenues
For the second quarter of 1958 the City of Corona will receive 34552 from the state sales tax. The city donates about 3500 to 4000 to Riverside County while Palm Springs gets over three times as much with no county contribution.
