Moonlight fishing ends in hot coffee mishap at Newport Beach

Mission Society Celebrated Fifty Years Of Work At Church Gather

At First Baptist church a special social marked the fifty year anniversary of the Woman's Missionary Society. Ten women wore period costumes reenacting the 1870 Boston meeting that organized the society. Several delegates from major cities appeared in roles, and the program noted growth from two missionaries in Burma to 257 worldwide. A birthday cake with fifty candles capped the event.

Enormous Crop Tonnage Hauled on Country Roads

The Bureau of Crop Estimates of the U S Department of Agriculture reports eleven principal crops averaged 6 5 million tons hauled on country roads from 1915 to 1919, about 27 tons per 100 acres. Illinois leads with 8 855 million tons of national total, Iowa 6 59 million, Kansas 4 862 million, then Nebraska Indiana Ohio and Texas. Road conditions largely cause the tonnage variation observed.

Ford cuts prices as output hits four hundred daily in June
