Comrade Andrews Receives Veteran Badge at Palisades Encampment

T C Andrews reports over four hundred registrants at the Southern California Veterans' association encampment held at the Pacific Palisades. He received a costly badge with S C V A letters, a sunburst diamond, and crossed sabers from Company 1 1st Michigan Cavalry, marking his retirement as commander. Comrades A P Kelley N T Stevens Goodrich attended from Corona. Mrs Andrews McKay of Glendale joined a family reunion. Leaser of Santa Ana was elected commander for the next year.

Angels Beat Bill's Gang 14 to 8 in Corona Recreation Game

The Angels defeated Bill Locke's squad 14 to 8 at the Corona Recreation club grounds. Nine Angels, led by Reid on the mound and strong late scoring, held off Garage men who channeled three runs in the third inning and five in the fifth. Umpires Francis Mayes and Jack Forehand observed a clean finish.

Locke and Becker Buy Equity in Gould Straw Lid

W R Locke and Bill Becker each acquire a two bit stake in George Goulds straw lid. The pair bought the lid from Gould for two bits each and immediately used the hat for a sidewalk display. Becker quipped they were helping beautify the town as they blasted holes through a roof. San Leandro reports a big fruit dryer to be erected on an eight acre tract.
