Funeral services for Perle T. Glass 83 will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the First Congregational Church with Rev. Alferd D. Heininger officiating. Interment follows at Sunnyslope Cemetery. Glass arrived in Corona with his parents in 1894 and helped in the town’s name change from South Riverside to Corona. He was a longtime Corona Volunteer Fire Department member.
Norco officials defended the hiring of Sam Kalfayan as city manager. Councilman Louis Hoefs explained the process citing a single applicant and no public advertising. Lois Richards and allies had pushed to remove Kalfayan, pressing questions about the selection and interviews.
